About Hellen Streicher, PhD, LCP
Dr. Hellen Streicher is a licensed clinical psychologist with specialized training in the following areas:
- CHILD CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY which focuses on addressing psychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders in infants, toddlers, children, adolescents, and young adults
- PEDIATRIC PSYCHOLOGY which focuses on working collaboratively within multidisciplinary medical teams to assist pediatric patients with medical issues
- CLINICAL NEUROPSYCHOLOGY which focuses on understanding the relationships between behavior and cognitive processes and abilities and underlying brain functioning, structures, and systems
Dr. Streicher obtained her Bachelors degree from the University of Cincinnati and both her Masters and Doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the University of Florida Health Science Center in the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology and a two-year post-doctoral fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. Dr. Streicher's professional career for over 30 years has spanned clinical, administrative, research, and faculty positions. She held clinical faculty positions at Virginia Commonwealth University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and University of Virginia. Clinical settings in which Dr. Streicher has provided care to pediatric patients and their families have included in-patient psychiatric, outpatient private practice, school-based clinics, community-based integrated primary care, and tertiary care medical facilities. Dr. Streicher founded MindWorks Pediatric Neuropsychology in 2014.

Dr. Streicher believes that every child deserves to be understood — not just diagnosed. Her evaluations are designed to go beyond a label, offering families and providers a detailed picture of how a child thinks, learns, and processes the world around them.
Dr. Streicher approaches each evaluation with curiosity, care, and a deep respect for the individuality of every child and family she works with. Her goal is to translate complex findings into clear, actionable guidance that makes a real difference in a child's life.
A Collaborative Approach
Neuropsychological evaluation is most meaningful when it is embedded in a broader network of care. Dr. Streicher works closely with families, pediatricians, schools, therapists, and other specialists to ensure that evaluation findings are understood and put to use.
Following each evaluation, a feedback session is provided to walk families through the results, answer questions, and discuss next steps — whether that means school accommodations, therapeutic referrals, or simply a better understanding of a child's strengths and challenges. Written reports explaining the evaluation findings and recommendations are individually-tailored to each child's needs.
